Day trip to Yoichi and Otaru

We took 8:39am bus from Tokeidai mae bus stop opposite Sapporo Clock Tower –> Yochi for visiting Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery. The journey took 1hr 50mins.

Yoichi:

• Free entrance to Nikka Whisky Museum
• Whisky tasting for 1,600 yen a set with 3 different flavours: woody, sherry and peaty
• With hurried steps, we managed to board the 12:37pm train from Yoichi -> Otaru. A 20mins ride for 440 yen per person.

Otaru:

• Our hunger drove us to Sankaku Market right next to Otaru Station. Those popular restaurants were crowded with long queues. We just picked one that was less crowded to feast.
• Lunch @ Ebisu Sakura 恵比寿桜. We had seafood don + grilled herring + grilled cuttlefish for 5,230 yen. The grilled items were quite good but the seafood was not that fresh and tasted frozen. Sadly it was expensive yet not good.
• Dinner @ Yabuhan Soba which is well known for its traditional homemade soba. It was good but expensive.
• After dinner, we went to Otaru Canal for an evening walk before heading to Otaru Eki mae Bus Terminal. The bus for Sapporo departed at 8:25pm.
