Suncheon – 12-17 May 2024

Suncheon 5 nights

DAY 1:

• From Tongyeon Central Bus Terminal (통영종합버스터미널) -> Suncheon Integrated Bus Terminal (순천종합버스터미널) (by bus) 13,800 won/pax. Took 2 hrs.
• We arrived around 1pm and check-in to Hotel Castle (호텔캐슬)
• Dinner @ Pungmi Tondak (풍미통닭) – BEST garlic fried chicken. MUST TRY!

DAY 2 :

• Youth Store
• Lunch @ 아마씨 아름엄마 씨앗밥상 (Korean fusion cafe). Nice and cosy small cafe. Selling only limited lunch sets (Korean fusion cafe). The food is good but not cheap. Run by a mother and daughter.
• Jukdobong Park (죽도봉공원) (walked to the observatory and napped/rested in the park for 1 hour)
• Suncheon Cultural Street (순천 문화의거리)
• Dinner @ Aretjang Night Market (아랫장). Cheap and good local Korean food. Jjiampong 4k won, Jjiampmeon 6k won and seafood pancake 5k won

DAY 3 :

• Daehan Dawon Boseong Green Tea Field (대한다원 보성녹차밭)
  
  • Suncheon Integrated Bus Terminal (순천종합버스터미널) –> Boseong Bus Terminal (보성버스터미널) 1 hr bus ride 7,900 won/pax
  • Boseong Bus Terminal –> Daehan Dawon (대한다원) bus stop 10:49am by bus 15mins 900 won/pax
• Lunch @ the nice restaurant Cafe Min (카페민) near the ticket booth of Daehan Dawon Boseong Green Tea Field. Pork cutlets and pumpkin cheese cutlets total 28k won.
• Boseong Korean Tea Museum (한국차박물관)
• Snacked @ the nice and cosy Botjae Cafe (그린다향) near Bosjae (봇재(대한다원)) bus stop. Green tea ice-cream smoothie 6k won.
• Returned by 5:10pm bus to Boseong Bus Terminal
• Quick dinner @ 봉산식당 (beef local restaurant) near Boseong Bus Terminal. Nice and simple beef head soup 10k won and bean spouts dried fish soup 8k won.
• Rushed to catch 6:25pm bus back to Suncheon Integrated Bus Terminal

DAY 4 :

• Suncheon Bay National Garden (순천만국가정원) + Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve (순천만습지) (a.k.a. wetland). Entrance ticket 10k won/pax.
  • Not clearly documented for foreigners but the easiest way to reach Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve is taking Suncheonman Skycube (순천만 스카이큐브) from Suncheon Bay National Garden. We learnt the hard way by taking a bus from outside Suncheon Bay National Garden.
• Lunch @ Mom's Touch (맘스터치 오천점) (near National Garden). Ordered 2 pax set: 2 crispy chicken burgers + 1 fries + 2 cokes + 8 pcs of crispy chicken 20,600 won. Good value and the food was good.
• Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve
• Suncheon Bay Reed Field (순천만습지 갈대밭)
• Yongsan Observatory (순천만 용산전망대) (closed)
• Dinner @ 가마솥삼시세끼 (cauldron soup restaurant). Pork ribs soup and pork back bone soup, both are good. Rice served using cauldron pot. 27k won.

DAY 5 :

• Ocheon Green Square (오천그린광장) park (walked from hotel along the river park). Relax @ the park.
• Lunch @ 김밥사랑과 콩나물국밥 (local eatery). Cheap and good food. Kimbap 2k won & bibimbap 6k won. 2 sticks of fish cakes as 'service' (FOC).
• Dinner @ 남녘들밥상 (Korean restaurant). Sumptuous cockles set dinner. 23k won per person x 2 sets = 46k won. MUST TRY!

DAY 6:

• Roamed around and had lunch @ Aretjang Night Market (pork rice soup) that came to life on Friday morning (unlike other mornings since our arrival!)
• Checked out and walked to Suncheon Integrated Bus Terminal for the next leg of our journey
