Ging Sun Ho King of Bun is a hidden gem. The smell of freshly baked buns wafted through the air, and the buns filled with succulent char siu (barbecue pork) and other delightful fillings were an absolute treat.
Halfway Coffee: Amidst the bustling streets of Mong Kok, I found refuge in Halfway Coffee. Enjoying a cup of meticulously brewed Hong Kong-style coffee, I observed the neighborhood’s quiet charm, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon break.
Happy Lamb Hotpot: On a chilly evening in Mong Kok, I met up with friends at Happy Lamb Hotpot, where communal dining reached its zenith. Dipping slices of tender lamb and an array of fresh vegetables into a bubbling, savoury broth created a sense of warmth and togetherness that perfectly complemented the flavours.
Hay Wong Dim Sum in Mong Kok was a dim sum haven. The dim sum here was freshly steamed and served with precision. I couldn’t resist the temptation of the delicate har gow (shrimp dumplings) and the comforting custard buns.

Mak Man Kee Noodle Shop: Jordan’s Mak Man Kee Noodle Shop was a hidden treasure. Their wonton noodles were legendary, with a rich, flavourful broth and perfectly cooked noodles that left me craving for more.
Putien transported me to the Fujian region of China, where I savored authentic Fujianese dishes. The simplicity and quality of the ingredients truly shone in each dish, and the brine-preserved pork and Heng Hwa bee hoon were unforgettable.
Soul Kitchen: In the vibrant Mong Kok, Soul Kitchen was a revelation of fusion cuisine. Each dish was a harmonious blend of flavours from different corners of the world, reflecting Hong Kong’s cosmopolitan nature.
At Tai Hing Roast Restaurant, I feasted on succulent roast meats that had been expertly prepared. The crispy skin and tender meat were a testament to Hong Kong’s obsession with perfectly roasted dishes.
Tian Yuan Dumplings in Mong Kok was where I devoured delectable dumplings with a variety of fillings. The handmade dumplings had a delightful texture, and the dipping sauces added an extra layer of flavour.
Tsim Chai Kee Noodle: In Jordan Tsim Chai Kee Noodle showcased the beauty of simplicity. Their wonton noodles were a revelation, with delicate wontons and perfectly cooked noodles swimming in a flavourful broth.
